I purchased this pan to use as a water bath barrier for baking a cheesecake in a springform pan. I place my springform pan into this one and then set them into a water bath in a larger cake pan. An 8” springform fits perfectly inside this pan and the cheesecake turns out beautifully with no cracks and no sinking in the middle. The sturdy ring around the outside of the pan also helps with transferring the two pans into and out of the water bath. I only wish this pan was a little bit bigger so I could fit a 10” springform into it instead of the 8” because my recipe makes a 10” so I’m left with extra batter in which I have to make mini cheesecakes to use it up. I really like the fun sprinkle pattern of the silicon and how well it works for my purpose so I kept it and will try to adjust my recipe to make an 8” cheesecake instead of a 10”. I haven’t made a cake directly in this pan so I can’t review how well it works for that or if a cake bakes well in it. The silicon is very flexible so I’d be a little worried about the oven racks leaving marks in the cake or how easy it would be to transfer a cake into and out of the oven with it. I still give it a 5 star review though because it works perfectly for my purpose.
