It had been a while since I cleaned my oven. More than a while. We were putting our house on the market, and I needed a clean oven. Ours is not self cleaning (it's IKEA and not at all old, modern stainless steel, 5 burner, gas) so I have to manually clean the racks and oven. The door especially needed cleaning, as we broil steak a couple times a week when we're unable to use the grill.My husband tried the cleaner out and told me it was junk. He didn't like it, and wanted to try a traditional one. I can't stand the smell of the high chemical stuff, so I gave this a go. I'm not sure if he didn't read the directions? Maybe he didn't shake it or use a scrubby sponge. Maybe he didn't rinse with warm/hot water. I don't know. Whatever he didn't do, it made a difference. I thought this stuff worked great! It barely smells, and I only left it on for somewhere between 4-10 minutes, depending on how thick the oil and grease buildup was. The Carbona did an excellent job of loosening the grease everywhere. I used a brilla pad for some of the heaviest parts, and a regular sponge, rough and soft side, for the rest.I put a little elbow into it, but if I hadn't let my oven go for so long (probably 6-8 months) this stuff would have done a much more efficient job. It's an oven cleaner, not a miracle worker. Overall very pleased. My oven looks awesome.
