Its does the job and I can't complain. Maybe a bit stickier than most stainless steel pans but thats really not a draw back once you know how to use it with your range. Also clean this while its still hot, not too hot though, right when water doesn't sizzle away to avoid warping.I love how I can cook anything on this pan -stove top or oven - and not worry about any toxic lining affecting my food. It's big enough to cook from 2 to 6. Also it's a beautifully designed pan. After LOTS of research, I decided to purchase this All-Clad 5-ply pan vs. a 3-ply to maintain its flat bottom. Many reviews of 3-ply pans tend to warp. To date, I LOVE this pan! I have seared meats, finished dishes in the oven on 400 degrees, and sautéed veggies successfully with no sticking issues. I also watched numerous videos on caring for All-Clad pans before using it. Some said to follow certain techniques to make it non-stick, which can actually stain your pan forever and is totally unnecessary when following proper cooking techniques. This is the BEST video I found was by Olga's Flavor Factory on YouTube. She shares how to use and care for your SS All-Clad pans, helping them last for years. Link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yo2mNeuwq-g. Its so simple to use and easy to clean when you follow her directions.Throughout my lifetime, I have purchased several types of pans from stainless steel, non-stick, Scan Pan, carbon steel, to cast iron, looking for the least amount of care and the longest life. For me, cast iron is just too darn heavy. And carbon steel requires too much work to get & maintain a non-stick surface, plus you cannot cook acid types foods in it. However, I do own a couple enameled cast iron pieces that I occasionally use and like.My favorite non-stick is Scan Pan which is oven safe to 500 degrees. Generally, they only last about 3 years before the bottom chips and they need to be replaced. But all non-stick pans will need replacing. However, with Scan Pan, even the replacements are covered under their limited lifetime warranty as long as you follow their usage instructions. Also, you will have to pay to ship it back to get the replacement. So for me, the All-Clad stainless steel and Scan Pan pans give me the best of both worlds...helping me create delicious food! And both are oven safe at higher temperatures...Used it to bake four large Chicken breast in the oven and broil. I order another today!Great fry pan. Heavy, even cooking, easy to clean. Wondering if there is a lid to fit ?The pan is good but I would have liked it to have a cover.I did returned mine. I got a full set at Costco that was on sale for $150, they were much better 5-ply pans. But bang for buck this pan is solid! If you're needing just one pan, or don't want to fork over $200 because you're just starting out and don't need name brand, then this pan is worth it. Also it's not made in China, it's made in South Korea which is a plus. After one use the pan looks dirty and old. I preheated the pan before adding the cooking oil, then waited for the oil to heat to add the food. The cooked food was easily removed by washing in warm soapy water but the entire skillet is now discolored and doesn't look clean. I won't be purchasing any more of this company's products.
