We needed sealed containers for my son's work lunches. The Rubbermaid jobs we started with weren't lasting well, and have proven tempery over time: their lid gaskets remove, and become more and more inelastic, therefore more difficult to re-insert properly even when washed by hand. They also have a vent covered by a little detachable plastic thingy that has a tendency to follow the missing socks wherever they get off to. The gasket itself is partially responsible for keeping the lid in place. These, on the other hand, have two pieces: a heavy glass dish and a sturdy lid with an attached gasket. The lid literally clamps to the bottom, so the gasket is asked only to seal the container. Muuuuch better. How much do we like them? We have two, and will invest in another three.
