These are well made and work. However they are a bit long and are a small chore to get on large hands. These are a good addition to my kitchen but if I was ordering again, I might go for the shorter version.These are good quality oven mitts, better than anything I found in the stores. I've had no problems with heat coming through and burning me like some of the cheaper oven mitts I've had in the past. My only issue is that they are very stiff and a little bulky so sometimes I have trouble getting a hold of flat pans like baking & pizza stones. If they were a little more flexible they'd be perfect.One of my favorite dishes to make requires using a cast iron pan in a 500 degree oven. When I used these mitts, I was surprised how much heat was transmitted from the cast iron handle to my hand - It was so bad that I quickly switched to using a different set ASAP for that dish.These have been useful for other occasions at lower temperatures, and they look pretty nice, but I wouldn't trust them for anything at 400+ degrees.The black isn't a true black. It's a faded black so they look old the day they come out of the box. But they do the job of keeping hot things off your hands. What more do you really need?Great loves that really allow you to hold hot pots without burning yourself.they are definitely heat resistant and i loved the color but they got badlly stained the first time i used them.We haven't tried these yet, but out of the bag they produced large amounts of a fine powder or dust when clapped together. I don't believe wiping will remove all this dust so we will have to wash them despite the recommendation not to.I needed a pair of oven mitts and these were cheap and matched the color scheme of my house. Work well!As one reviewer had said, this product is not the same Flameguard Oven Mitts I used to own 20 years ago. I can still feel the heat in my hands with these mitts. I ordered two sets because I have been looking for this but I am very disappointed. I noticed the brand is Now Designs and not Flameguard which is what it was.The oven mitts are excellent quality and work well. The only problem I have with them is that because of the length of the mitt, the opening was tight around my forearm, and for a guy I don't have overly large forearms. One of my female coworkers tried them and they fit her no problem. Just be mindful if you do have large forearms if you decide to purchase.These work well and keep the heat out. I found them a bit large for my hands but otherwise I am pleased with them.I expected better for the price (~18$). They don't protect from heat enough. It is slightly unpleasant removing food from the oven. I don't particularly like their longer length than usual mitts.These have been grateful from day one only complaint is they shrink when washed.
