Le Creuset lives up to its reputation for precision manufacturing, beautiful styling, superb cooking. The lids fit snuggly and securely, eliminating the rattling so often encountered with cast iron or enamelled cast iron cookware. The clean lines and high quality enamel make the vessel a thing of beauty. And, of course, what really counts is that this cookware performs as expected, working equally well on a gas range, an induction cooktop, or in an oven, and cleaning up easily. I have no hesitation in rating this item at the full five stars. The one observation which I feel I must make, however, is that this cookware is indeed priced as a first-rate product of the highest craftsmanship and manufacturing standards. One must ask one's self: will my enjoyment and appreciation of this piece make the cost worthwhile for me? I own a variety of enamelled cast iron pieces from various manufacturers, and Le Creuset does stand out from the rest. But I have not felt inclined to replace any of my existing pieces with Le Creuset. For all that Le Creuset is clearly a higher quality product, the other pieces perform perfectly well. My prime motivation in purchasing Le Creuset was the wide range of sizes available. In truth, I ordered this 2 quart "French Oven" by mistake when I had intended to buy the 3.5 quart "French Oven!" But this relatively small model has proven to be a very useful size, and such a small enamelled piece is hard to find from most manufacturers. To tell you the truth, I had concerns when I ordered this pot. I turns out they were unwarranted. when i first ordered this pot they sent one that had a small flaw in the bottom. Amazon handled the return beautifully and a new pot was on the way and delivered with next day delivery. the new one is perfect. I've already used this little guy several few times and it cooks fantastic. Not too long ago I purchased the 5 1/2 quart version and it worked so great on chili and stew that I soon began wishing i had a smaller version to go along with it. when the 2 qt pot arrived it looked a little small, but not to worry, it holds a lot more food than it looks like. i purchased this size mainly to try out the recipes i found in the book "Glorious One-Pot Meals: A Revolutionary New Quick and Healthy Approach to Dutch-Oven Cooking" . these recipes where written specifically for enamel cast iron cooking. I'm hooked on cooking with this pot and the recipes in that book. it's worked out really great.by the way, i really did enjoy the products mentioned above and have no affiliation with the book or the le creuset people. these statements are just my opinion, so your milage may vary. :-)I purchased the turquoise, beautiful color. I needed a small pot for rice. It comes out perfect every time. I even used it to cook pasta for one. Easy clean up. Doesn’t take up a lot of room. On the pricey side, it’s versatility can justify the expense.this is small...got for a single person household. cant hold much. had to cut my chili recipe in half. But I'm older & I like it smaller as it is not as heavy.. to carry or to clean quickly in the sink.I read some reviews saying that the customers received the damaged items due to poor package and protection. However, I took the risk to order this fragile item online. Fortunately, it came in one piece at the perfect condition. I am at the phase of switching most of my aluminum (Al) cookware to cast iron ones for healthier lifestyle than before, so this 2 qrt french oven is my first investment. The cookware itself is heavy. The oven size is good for one person meal, but I realized that it is good for cooking up to 3 big bowls of noodle soup. This cast iron oven conducts heat much faster than the old Al cookware, so it conserves gas and cook quicker than before. Overall, I like this french oven and use it everyday. I may buy a bigger dutch oven later to cook family size of soup or congee. This is my second Le Creuset Cast-Iron Dutch Oven. I also have the 5qt round in Flame. I love the 5 qt for making big batches of soups, stews or sauces, but the 2qt is perfect for nights when I am just making a small pot for our family (2 adults and 3 small children). When I don't have the ingredients or energy to make a big batch, this size is perfect - I don't have to worry about things burning on the bottom of my bigger Dutch Oven. And as usual, Le Creuset craftsmanship is superb.Little heavy, but makes it an excellent durable product. Should have got years ago. Cooks excellent and easy cleaning..I have two others that are a bit big. This little thing cooks rice in the oven wonderful. We live at 9300 ft altitude, so rice is hard to cook when not in a pressure cooker. This pot, in the oven, works just great for rice and other items. It is well made and should last a lifetime!Heats fast and evenly and cleans up extremely easily. Even after cooking typically staining foods like bright red chilis, it comes out looking brand new after a quick wash.Me encanta y son muy buenas, aunque se paga mucho dinero no son caras y valen la pena porque duran muchisimo
